We use science-based, positive methods to humanely train dogs. Only positive reinforcement has been consistently proven to result in happier, healthier dogs with results that last. Organizations such as the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, American Humane Society, and The Pet Professional Guild all adhere to the same evidence-based training methods utilized by our Trainers at Good Choices Dog Training.
Using force free, fear free, positive methods, our Trainers strive to provide the highest quality of training for all dogs–regardless of breed, size, issue, and of course, age. Your dog is never too old to learn new tricks!
We are proud members of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, The Pet Professional Guild, The International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and carry the designation of Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
Our Philosophy — It’s all about Teamwork!
You and your dog are a team! Good teamwork depends on good communication — that’s why we include instruction on canine body language in our training sessions. Many behavioral issues arise from miscommunication between dog and owner. We can help you understand your dog better and teach you how he learns so you will communicate more clearly with him. Better communication results in more trust and more trust results in a better behaved, well-adjusted dog.
Whether you are training for an Agility competition or just want your dog to be able to stay calm in every situation, it all starts with trust and communication.
